SHOOT OUT WILL TAKE PLACE WEDNESDAY NIGHT MARCH 18, 2009
The shootout will start after registration and team pictures have been taken at 7:00 PM.
THE FORMAT: The skills competition will require 4 different shots:

Draw through the port
-
Raise to the button
-
Hit and roll
-
Double takeout
Each shot must be thrown by a different member of your team, sweeping is allowed and someone must hold the broom. The person in the house can assist in the sweeping but not the thrower. No practice stones allowed on the competition ice, but practice ice is available earlier on in the afternoon.
Teams with 3 players will have the player to throw the last rock determined by a game of chance (flip of coins or draw straws) with the assistance of the ice official. Teams with 2 or less players can place their names on a list in an effort to form additional teams.
SCORING: Points will be awarded as follows, with the winning teams having the most points:
For shots 1 to 3:
4 points for touching the button
3 points for touching the four foot
2 points for touching the eight foot
1 point for touching the twelve foot
For shot 4:
4 points for removing both rocks and shooter staying in the house
3 points for removing both rocks, but losing the shooter from the house.
2 points for making contact with both rocks, but not removing both rocks from the house.
1 point for hitting a rock.
Ties will be broken by starting with the first shot (Draw through the port). The team with the highest score will be the winner (with the same shooter who originally took the shot). If still tied, we move to the second shot and so on until a winner is declared.
